Enough (version 2)

This is me, a body of flesh,

stretched and scarred, still standing yet.

They taught us silence wrapped in shame,

hush now, girl, don’t speak their name.

They won’t believe you anyway,

his future’s bright, that’s what they say.

Men with rage behind their eyes,

hands that grab and justify.

Enough—no more hiding in fear,

we're done being quiet, our voices are clear.

We rise like thunder, like storms unchained,

our scars are stories—they won't be in vain.

Enough—no more silence tonight,

we're taking back power, reclaiming our right.

I’ve walked the streets, my keys a blade,

each shadow whispering what they’ve taken away.

I’ve seen the tears my sisters cried,

heard the ghosts of those who tried.

They tell us be strong, but soft with a smile,

follow the rules, survive for a while.

Dress just so, don’t stay too long,

make yourself small, don’t get it wrong.

No more shrinking, no more pain,

no more playing your cruel game.

I speak for those who cannot speak,

the strong, the broken, the fierce, the weak.

Fists to the sky, hearts open wide,

we’re the resistance you can’t divide.

Enough—our voices ignite,

we’re done with your darkness, we’re claiming the light.

We are the daughters, the mothers, the fight,

from ashes we’re rising, we burn bright tonight.

Enough—no more silence tonight,

we are the fire, we are the right.
